Leaps Towards the Sun is the first of the expressions of Laura Obidike’s artistry and industry in the use of words to convey her thoughts and views about life and living.
At the age of nine, when she was in her penultimate year in the Primary School, her grip on novels spawned a collection of tales and stories, which almost littered her little corner of the room she shared with her sisters.
Three years thereafter, she has set forth on an epic voyage of writing, fired and inspired by many accomplished writers whose books she has read.
Laura is presently a Junior Secondary Student of Jesuit Memorial College (JMC) in Port Harcourt.
Together with her siblings, she enjoys the warmth and love of her Mom and Dad.
In the words of the Chief Librarian, Mr. Uche Iroabuchi, Chief Librarian, National Library of Nigeria,
“I’m very impressed by Laura Obidike’s Leaps Towards the Sun. As a young star, it is remarkable to see how she tries to make comparative analysis between the old and modern educational systems and its impact generally. She exhibits great hope and potentials for Nigeria.”
